Melody, has been in the Performing Arts since her Elementary days, which introduced her to the magic and the making of Stories and Storytelling. This she carried on when she homeschooled her children and during their Reading subject, Storytelling had always been key to teaching any subject matter.

Her passion for Storytelling led her to do creative and interactive story sessions first at the Museo Pambata, the Ayala Museum, the National Museum, The Children’s Library by the Gokongwei Foundation, the Filipinas Heritage Library and other key libraries and private and public schools around the country and the global stage. She has performed before thousands of children of all ages and trained teachers and allied professionals in Literacy and Storytelling for more than 30 years.
In July 2000, Ms. Mary Melody Y. Remorca became the first ever Grand Champion in the Philippines (for the Adult Category) of the Salaysayan: A National Storytelling Competition spearheaded by the Philippine Board on Books for Young People (PBBY) and the Sentrong Pangkultura ng Pilipinas or the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and the National Commission on Culture and the Arts (NCCA).

This brought Ms. Melody’s passion for Storytelling to a turning point – giving her more opportunities in reaching more children and teachers through her Storytelling skills. She represented the Philippines in its 1st Manila International Storytelling Festival in 2009, wherein together with the world’s great storytellers like Bobby and Sherry Norfolk, Nancy Wang and Robert Kikuchi-Yngojo of The Eth-No-Tec, Randel McGee and Groark.

Thus, she has dreamed of pursuing her Masters degree in English to best pursue her advocacy on Creative Performances, Literacy, Reading, and Storytelling. At present, she is enrolled in an MA in English Language Teaching program, whereby she looks forward to doing more in the Storytelling world.

Currently, she is also a character actor for certain indie films, and television programs shown on the major networks in the Philippines and she has worked on the stage in productions done by Trumpets, Inc., and PETA. She also engages herself in assignments and projects as a Party Host for Children’s activities and parties. She also handles hostings for weddings and family gatherings. She has handled hostings for corporate events, as well.

As a Voice Actor and Artist, she has been given assignments for digital ads for corporate brands. Melody is a Visual Artist as well and she has created a body of works featuring botanical themes, botanical calligraphies, and landscapes, which she hopes to exhibit in the future.
